Christmas

This year we had a nice Christmas, for some reason it was a little different than usual, but that doesn’t warrant that it was bad.

Per tradition we went over to Grandma's house Christmas Eve to watch her open her gifts, so that she would be able to come join us Christmas morning. But this year the crowd of spectators was very few. All of our family was out of town or preoccupied except Mom, Anton and I. It was the smallest crowed in History, but it was still fun to watch Grandma. My Grandma is so funny she is a peaker. Usually she has snuck a peak at the presents as soon as she has gotten them, but for the most part I think she was good this year. Only one or two things had been opened beforehand. :)

Anton had to leave Grandma's early and go to work for just a few hours so I headed back to mom's house to help her make a few things for the next day's meal. As soon as Anton got off work he and I went home and played with the book/paper doll Nutcracker set he got me last year. It is a beautiful book that folds out into different stages and comes with paper dolls so that as you read the story you can act out the ballet. It is going to be one of our family traditions every Christmas Eve before we read the actual Christmas story from the bible.

We then returned to Mom's where we read a good story about a Christmas, ate cheese balls and played games. Anton and I returned home, read the bible and went to bed. Anton worked from four am to eight so I got up around seven and went over to my mom’s house where we watched my sister’s kids open their stockings and then presents. As soon Anton got home we gave mom our gift and then opened our own. We both got some really nice things this year and much more than we anticipated. We than got to talk to my brother, who is serving a mission which rocked, ate mommies breakfast casserole and then hung out until the rest of the family came over for Christmas dinner/lunch. We had a yummy lunch and then came home so Anton could take a nap before we spent the rest of the day with my family.

Without continuing to tell you every little detail of holiday, it was a nice one. Anton and I got to spend a lot of time together and enjoy each other’s company. Poor Anton was sick throughout, but is now doing well :)
