I have not had to many cravings or dislikes during my pregnancy. A couple months in I found that the brand of cheese stick that I was consuming previously now tasted like yeast to me instead of cheese and that our peanut butter tasted like dirt. And for the last month and a half I have craved sugar, instead of my usual salty snacks. Chocolate, though not opposed by me, is not usually my choice of treat, but it has been lately and I have gotten over my peanut butter tasting like dirt and enjoy it more than usual.

Well I have never been a fan of Papaya, but Anton really wanted to get one the other day while at the grocery store. He had had it before, but could not really remember what it tasted like. So we bought one. When we got home he got right down to cutting open and tasting it. He thought the smell a little odd, but not to bad. I smelled it and wanted to hurl. It smelt like vomit. Repulsed I backed away from the foul smelling fruit.

Anton proceeded to cut it up and taste it. He informed me that it tasted much better than it smelt and I conceded to try a small piece. I was shocked by my intense repulsion of the fruit. I couldn't even finish biting down all the way. It was the most foul thing I have ever placed in my mouth!! I immediately spat it back out and ran for the bathroom to brush my teeth, which made the taste worse, but at least it was out of my mouth. Anton started laughing out of shock at me reaction and we both marveled at my disgust.

We went to dinner that night with my family and when we got home the Papaya was all I could smell. I had to hold my breath for the next few days every time I opened the refrigerator door. Thankfully, though it still stinks to me, I can handle the smell to the point of tolerance.
