Paul has sustained a few more bumps and bruises as he has gotten older do the fact that he gets into and climbs up on everything now. For example he got his arm slammed in the toilet the other day when trying to toss in a few toys. Of course I felt bad for him and comforted him, but I also hoped that he would learn not to throw anything else in the toilet. He didn't.

Well Saturday night Paul was playing in one of the kitchen cupboards and drooped a small glass measuring cup (that probably weighs no more than a few ounces) on his toe. It must have hit just right because he scram and cried like he has never cried from an injury before. His poor little toe showed the markings of the blood-blister and bruise right away. It took quite sometime to calm the poor little guy down and I felt so bad for him!! He calmed down after a while, but you could see it had effect his mood for the rest of the evening.

By the next morning Paul's tow was swollen, red and the bruise was a dark red-ish purple. We are hopping he won't lose his toe nail, but it looks like he probably will. Since his shoes fit him perfectly I didn't dare shove them on for church in case his swollen toe rubbed against the top of the shoe, so Paul sported a long sleeve button down shirt with khaki shorts and stripped khaki socks (so that he could still run around). I wish I had taken a picture of our poor like fashion fopa (the correct way to spell that is 'faux pas', but who can read that French gibberish?:)).

Two days latter he is running around as usual, he still doesn't seam please when his toe is touched, but he has pushed past the trauma of the incident. At least as far as I can tell.

  2. I love your take on "faux pas"--it made me laugh and is totally you...who I miss TERRIBLY, by the way. It seems that all little kids add up the bruises as they get more mobile. Way to be super-mom and take care of your little (growing!) man :)
